Three Vignettes - What does e-Learning look like?
I am going to discuss the Prep/Year 1 class as it relates to my course (Early Childhood Education).
The Prep/Year 1 class did an amazing job with their animal studies! This goes to show that using technology in the classroom can influence the children to do bigger and better things. For example, they developed their own ideas from a set activity. They showed great initiative in building huts, creating videos in MovieMaker and collating photos into podcasts to share with their African buddies. They used a range of learning materials to complete their animal studies.
Group 1 Tools Introduction
Digital Tool 1: Blogs for Learning

I found a great (American) website called Kidblog. It allows a teacher to "Create a Class" which gives each of the students a safe and secure place to form their blogs. I am sure that there are plenty of Australian education sites, but I thought this was a great example of an exemplary site to enhance education. Given my students will be early childhood learners, this would be a safe site for them to post in.
Digital Tool 2: Wikis for Collaborative Learning
I have created a PMI Chart for Wikis.
Please visit my Wiki page to view my opinion on wikis.
Digital Tool 3: Websites for many purposes
I created my own education weebly site on Under the Sea animals. To begin the learning process I have added my first topic "The Blue Whale" suited for a year 3 class.
The link to my website is: http://b3underthesea.weebly.com/

ReplyDeleteGreat post! However I couldn't access your wiki. Weebly looks good and had no trouble. Well done.
